LOST 4.7

Thursday, March 13 at 9pm L O S T, Season 4, Episode 7 - "Ji Yeon"

They are just as confused as we are (Source: ABC)

Hello all, this is Marmot. Manatee is enjoying a nice long swim in her birth place, the warm coastal waters of Florida.

Last night's L O S T was a much welcomed improvement over the previous week's Juliet soap opera. We learned who the last of the Oceanic 6 were and surpise!

(SPOILER)

Jin isn't one of them. Why? Because he's dead. Dead and being visited by the Widow Sun and a Made-looking Hurley. Not the MTV show, but a full-on pinstripe suited gangster.

What did we learn from last night's episode? A lot. For one, anything goes when it comes to flashing. Fowards, backwards, sideways.

Two, Jin is dead. And he dies somewhere between December 26, 2004 and July of 2005, presuming that the island is keeping on relatively the same calendar as the rest of the world. However, since Jin isn't one of the Six, he presumably died on the island. And since Sun has her baby, we are left to assume she does get off the island within 3 weeks or so. Which in LOST time could be a whole season. So when does Jin die? My guess is before the end of the season, but my real guess is next week. Why? Because the promos said specifically, "Someone dies."

We also learned that Michael, the long lost sell-out is now back, apparently trying to help his fellow survivors. Why? Probably because he has one hell of a guilt complex. But Michael's appearance on the ship begs a larger question: Where is Walt? They left on the tugboat together, so unless Walt is somewhere on the boat, or was pulled under the water by a giant squid, odds are Giant Walt has some very special powers and is teleporting all over the place.

How about the weird stuff? Why did Rachel throw herself overboard? The scene with her in the hallway made me wonder if she wasn't experiencing the same thing that Desmond was. Or maybe she's just bored. And why did no one make any effort to stop her? Honestly, it almost seemed like the rest of the boat crew didn't even notice she was there.

Why was the captain so forthcoming? He's lying. Duh.

All in all, not a bad week of L O S T. We got some good info, laughed, cried, the whole nine yards. Next week is the last before a month-long hiatus, so it should be a good one.

This is hard without Manatee. I hope she's having a good time, splashing around in the sea.

WOW... just wow.

So.. um. yea.

Marmot, thank you for wasting 2 hours of my precious roll calling time to explain to me the flashback in a flashfoward. Especially explaining it to someone who has never seen the show. This is like explaining Physics to people waiting in line at a X2 at Six Flags. NOONE CARES. So Jin is the guy who is dead but is actually alive in a flashfoward flashback. i felt like i was in a washing machine full of made up words for the entertainment industry. Marmot explained to me in full detail of Jin and this knocked up woman's sci-fi romance only for me to respond: who cares. EXACTLY WHO CARES? Like the people at Six Flags. AND furthermore - these are the most interesting people on this island? THESE TWO? I thought there were polar bears? and some guy who pushes a button every 108 mintues. They should do a story line on that guy. Oh wait, they did. Nevermind then. I'll just ask Marmot to explain next week's episode and watch how giddy he gets.
