Fox News is reporting:

LOS ANGELES — Lindsay Lohan will make a guest appearance on the season finale of ABC's "Ugly Betty."

The 21-year-old actress is set to play an old schoolmate of America Ferrera's character Betty Suarez on the show's May 22 season closer, according to the trade paper Variety. Both Variety and Usmagazine.com said Lohan began shooting her scenes during the weekend. Lohan also is expected to appear in five episodes of "Ugly Betty" next season. Her publicist did not immediately return a call seeking comment Sunday.

Manatee: As if this season wasn't bad enough! How on earth does this show lack drama when you have a lot of "drama queens" (Vanessa Williams, Gabrielle Union, Rebecca Romijn, Judith Light, Michael Urie) all on one screen. Vanessa Williams used to play a conniving, manipulative, hateful fashion magazine director who started so many problems around the office - it was actually pretty entertaining. Now her day is devoted to nursing Christina (Ashley Jensen) as she attempts to hatch an 18-year plan to run Mode and Meade publications. Wow, that's a downgrade. Who cares anymore if she has a baby and inherits part of the pie? I want to see her do what she does best... run around the white and orange hued office yelling at anyone with a bad outfit on.

And the Gabrielle Union story line, I could do without. I don't buy that Daniel falls in love with her so quickly. He's had a bunch of girls at his door, and she's the one? His enemy's sister? Sure, love overcomes all obstacles, but what a contrived storyline. Renee just pops out of nowhere. It would have been more believable and interesting if Daniel starting a relationship with Wilhelmina's daughter. Where is she again? French boarding school? Skiing in the Swiss Alps?

And now you're adding Lindsay Lohan!? Are the ratings really that bad? Sure, it's not in the Top 20, but then again, nothing is except American Idol. And even if the numbers are in the toilet, will Lindsay Lohan bring those up? I don't like her, and I don't want to see her on this show. She will add nothing to a series like this. America Ferrera is a wonderfully talented actress (though on Ugly Betty it might not fully come across), and stooping to the level of playing with LiLo is unnecessary. Shouldn't she be doing community service or something? Or does the court now count acting on Ugly Betty as making the world a better place?
