ABC

LOST – Season 1, Episode 11 – “Cabin Fever”

Michael and The Dude re-enact their favorite scene from You've Got Mail to pass the time.

Locke is enlightened as to the whereabouts of Jacob's cabin, and life aboard the freighter becomes perilous.

Marmot: This is what I love about LOST: just when the show is starting to make sense and the pieces are coming together, something comes along, like HAVING TO MOVE THE ISLAND!!!! WHAT?!?!

Manatee: I know! Does that mean the island is really like a trailer park and has a motor and propeller? Or will some sort of "supernatural" come into play?

Marmot: I don't know why this moving island concept sounds so familiar to me, but I think they did it on Duck Tales. But I have no idea what this means on LOST. It was a stunning revelation for me.

Manatee: I actually found it to be the most normal of news!

Marmot: Other than Jack and Claire's dead father showing up in the log cabin and the doctor being

killed even though his body washed ashore 3 episodes ago, I guess it is somewhat normal.

Manatee: Fill me in on the dad again... do they know they share a dad? Do they know this guy as their dad? When did he die? Because isn't he in the flashforwards (Jack and Hurley's)?

Marmot: The deal on Christian Shepard is this: in Season One, we learn why everyone has gone to Australia. Jack went to pick up the body of his father, who died while he was there (can't remember how).

Manatee: hmmm....

Marmot: In later flashbacks, we learn that the reason Christian Shepard went to Australia was to try and see his daughter: Claire. Jack and Claire both know that Christian is their father, but they don't know that they are related. However, in last week's episode, we get an idea that Jack finds out when he tells Kate that she isn't even related to him, but it's ambiguous enough to still leave whether or not Jack knows as a question.

Manatee: Like Christian had a 2nd family that the other did not know of? Or some sort of step family?

Marmot: Yes, that's exactly it.

Manatee: Destiny is a fickle bitch.
